Jim Panther is a member of the Labor & Employment Section. He helps employers manage a full range of workplace issues through preventive counseling and strategic litigation defense. Jim knows how to identify problems before they arise and his advice regarding day-to-day workplace issues allows employers to reduce their risks, control costs and minimize liability exposure. Jim has a particular focus advising clients on wage and hour matters; age, sex and disability discrimination; policy development; discipline and discharge; workplace violence response planning; OSHA compliance; and non-compete agreements.

When disputes cannot be resolved prior to litigation, Jim provides strategic defense of management interests in state, federal and administrative forums. Jim is committed to a comprehensive understanding of each case and always seeks to leverage positions of strength in obtaining a favorable settlement or ruling on dispositive motion.

Jim’s litigation practice includes defense of claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act; the Americans with Disabilities Act; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act; Title VII; the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act; the Occupational Safety and Health Act; and state workers’ compensation laws.

Jim is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin (Labor & Employment Section, Litigation Section, Young Lawyers Division).
