Community Involvement

The personable, caring culture of the firm is apparent in the way von Briesen employees give back to the community. Each year, employees support programs that make an immeasurable impact on local charities and organizations. Many of von Briesen's employees also volunteer their time and talent at the grassroots level to many local charities and organizations.

von Briesen attorneys are known in the community as leaders who possess the perseverance and commitment to make a difference.

  • Attorneys and Staff from von Briesen joined forces and created the "von Briesen & Roper Library" at Agape Community Center. von Briesen employees divided into teams for painting, book collection and fund raising. The prior library space at Agape was transformed into a welcoming reading and resource center for Agape's children, teens and adults complete with a jungle-theme mural.

  • Attorney Claudia Egan is a member and the Secretary of the Present Music Board of Directors and also mentors teenage girls through the YMCA Sponsor-a-Scholar program and provides legal information to recently diagnosed breast cancer victims.

  • Throughout the last three decades, Attorney George Evans, Jr. has been involved with the Milwaukee Art Museum in various capacities, including treasurer, trustee, docent, officer of Friends of Art, and first president of Print Forum.

  • Attorney Tom Guszkowski serves as Chairman of the Board of Notre Dame Middle School and a member of the Board for Lutheran Social Services Foundation.

  • Attorney Mark Shiller was named by The Business Journal in 2007 as one of the "Forty under 40 " — a list of 40 professionals who make a substantial difference in their industry and community.
