Breakfast Briefing: Protecting the Workplace from Violence & Minimizing Legal Exposures
Violence in the workplace has reached epidemic proportions. Employers are experiencing workplace bullying, fighting, harassment, stalking, weapons use, and physical violence including death. The potential for violence to and amongst employees has never been greater. But federal and state agencies, and plaintiff lawyers, portray this as a workplace issue – an employer problem – that employers are required to protect against and plan for. And failing to do so results in the exposure for significant liability to employees, outside parties, penalties and criminal prosecution.
Our presenters will provide the steps employers should consider in fending off the liability associated with workplace violence and will discuss policy and practical applications to provide a safe workplace.
