Gilbert Berthelsen is a Shareholder of von Briesen & Roper, s.c. For the past twenty years he has practiced primarily in the area of school law. In October of 2002, Gib received the George Tipler Medal for distinguished service in school law. He is listed in Wisconsin Super Lawyers® (2009, 2011-2013) in the Schools & Education practice area.

His book, “Wisconsin Expulsion Digest,” was published by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards and Wisconsin School Attorneys Association starting in 1990 and continues to be updated and published bi-annually. He served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association from 1983-1987.

He is a member of the Racine County, Milwaukee and American Bar Associations as well as the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Gib is one of the founding members of the Racine County Economic Development Corporation and served for many years on its Board of Directors. His community activities include; past President (1974-1975), Vice-President (1973-1974), and Member of the School Board (1972-1975) for the Racine Unified School District. President (1982-1984) and Board Member (1977-1984) of the Racine YMCA. Executive Secretary (1972-1980) of the Racine County Medical Society. President (1992-1993) and Member of the Board of Directors (1988-1993) of the Racine Country Club.
