James Korom is a retired shareholder. During his career he had been involved in advising public and private sector clients on all aspects of labor and employment law; he acted as chief spokesperson in negotiations; he advised clients in matters of employee evaluation, discipline, and discharge, including examining discrimination, constitutional, civil service, and contractual issues; he handled many grievance arbitration cases, unfair labor practices cases and discrimination cases for the firm’s clients.
Jim clerked with the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission before joining the firm in 1982, and practiced extensively before the WERC. His practice also included dealing with city and county civil service laws in hiring, promotion, and disciplinary matters. Jim is especially proud of his career-long association with both the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police and Fire Chiefs Associations, as well as his term as President of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association.
In 2018 Jim received the George Tipler Award for Distinguished Service in School Law by the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association.
