Katie Hanley is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section, focusing her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration and marital property. Prior to joining von Briesen, Katie spent nine years at Marshall & Ilsley Trust Company, N.A. (now BMO Harris Private Bank) working on trust and estate administration matters and serving as Associate Trust Counsel.
At von Briesen, Katie advises her individual clients on transfers of wealth, tax planning and charitable gift planning. Her services include drafting estate plans, including wills, trusts, marital property agreements and powers of attorney. She also advises financial institutions on the development of corporate policies and procedures and various matters relating to the administration of trusts and estates.
Katie is a graduate of Marquette University Law School, and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont. Her bar admissions include the State of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin. She is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Bar Association and the Association of Women Lawyers.
