2010 Summer Associate Program
Welcome to a closer look at von Briesen & Roper, s.c. We represent an ideal combination for a law firm over 100 years old: innovation and stability. Established in 1904, von Briesen & Roper is Wisconsin’s seventh largest law firm with over 100 attorneys in offices in Milwaukee, Madison, Mequon and Racine. We serve as advisors to and advocates for businesses and executives with emphasis on banking, bankruptcy, construction, corporate, employee benefits, hospitals and healthcare systems, labor, litigation and risk management, real estate, and wealth management.
We are proud of our summer associate program. Our goal is to offer all of our Summer Associates a real-life picture of the practice of law and a position with us upon completion of law school. Why is our program so successful?
Our culture. We are personable, professional and enjoy working together to understand our clients’ needs and provide unparalleled service in meeting their expectations.
Exposure to a variety of practice areas. You will have the opportunity to experience the firm's various practice areas through a carefully planned schedule. What better way to explore the many substantive areas of law?
It is more than just research. You will be involved in actual client matters – sitting in on practice group and client meetings, attending court , mediations, depositions, or closings, and, in general, understanding client issues.
Attorney mentors. Your mentor will help integrate you into the firm and offer continued guidance throughout the summer.
Training. Extensive training is provided to expose you to the inner-workings of our firm and to equip you with the technology and tools you need to have a successful summer.
Social Interaction. Social events are scheduled throughout the summer, such as cocktail hours and dinners at Milwaukee’s great restaurants, baseball games, a summer picnic and informal lunches with shareholders, which allow for many interactions between our attorneys and summer associates.
Environment. Our approach to work is decidedly contemporary. We offer business appropriate casual attire every day of the week. The divisions between associates and shareholders are less rigid here than in more traditional firms. Doors are open and communication is too.
Come experience our summer program.
