Our Country, our businesses and our employees have gone through an unprecedented period. But as we begin the process of reopening, renewing and reinvigorating – including  our HR function – what are the key points to consider as we move forward? Business as usual is likely not the answer.

In any time of abnormality, we must reassess the challenges we faced and create solutions to the problems over which we had limited control. The employment function is no different. Our presenters will lead an interactive session on the best practices being adopted by employers and the suggested “emergence” steps for HR functions:

  1. Defining the current and future needs of the business from an HR perspective through effective and empowering employment policies and practices – from social distancing, to meeting and travel policies, to manufacturing and employee reengagement, especially for those that have been furloughed
  2. Evaluation of the infrastructure of the business and the improvements occasioned by the change in business culture and roles within the organization – engaging all employee groups, redefining absenteeism and addressing leave needs for the remainder of 2020 and beyond
  3. Redefining service and performance expectations – attendance, performance evaluation, employee work and interface obligations, lingering effect/permanency of the COVID-19 legal obligations of employers
  4. Establishing core competencies in the business and how to define worker expectations and success
