Gov. Evers Signs Hemp 2.0 Bill
On November 26, 2019, Governor Evers signed legislation to clarify and expand Wisconsin law related to legalized hemp and hemp-derived CBD. Known as “Hemp 2.0,” the bill passed the Wisconsin State Assembly and Wisconsin State Senate by wide margins. Among other things, the new law makes Wisconsin’s hemp pilot program (administered by the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection) permanent and brings Wisconsin’s existing law regarding hemp and CBD into compliance with the federal Farm Bill of 2018.
