Hanna Kolberg is a Shareholder in the Government Law Group. Her practice is heavily focused on state and federal court litigation, with substantial experience handling complex matters involving constitutional claims, governmental authority, administrative law challenges, and statutory interpretation. She represents municipalities and counties in contested litigation in both state and federal courts and serves as local counsel in federal court matters such as patent litigation and Federal Tort Claim Act claims, guiding out-of-state and national counsel effectively and efficiently through procedural and substantive law issues.

Hanna’s litigation experience includes prior service as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Wauwatosa and as an Assistant District Attorney for the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, where she developed substantial courtroom and trial experience. She is adept at managing politically sensitive litigation, coordinating with elected officials, department heads, and governing bodies, and navigating high-stakes matters involving public scrutiny and institutional risk.

In addition to her litigation practice, Hanna advises municipalities, counties, and corporate clients on governance, administrative proceedings, public records and open meetings compliance, public policy, Police and Fire Commission hearings, and collective bargaining. She also counsels businesses on compliance and public-private partnerships, drawing on her deep familiarity with governmental bodies to help corporate clients effectively navigate their relationships with state and local government.
