Integration & Development
von Briesen’s onboarding program strives to integrate our new attorneys at an appropriate pace. Our two-day orientation schedule provides opportunities to learn about the inner-workings of our firm, spend time with new colleagues, and receive training on the technology and tools to have a successful career at von Briesen. We believe that training and development should be maintained throughout an attorney’s career and have implemented programming that supports this belief.
Our Associate Advisory Program provides a peer advisor to new Associates and wide-ranging training to accelerate growth, achieve professional goals, and integrate into the firm. Our Lawyer Skills programming focuses on topics for attorneys that aren’t learned in law school but are important for lawyers to know, such as how to read a financial statement and non-profit board service. And our in-house CLE programs, “The Basics: What Every von Briesen Lawyer Needs to Know,” are designed to cover new developments in the law and emerging practice areas.
In an effort to recognize high levels of achievement, von Briesen offers an excellent career track for attorneys. The advancement track generally relies on experience, meeting or exceeding minimum billable and productive non-billable expectations, quality of work, client relationships, CLE and other training involvement, marketing and networking, overall contribution to the practice group and demonstration of commitment to the firm’s Vision, Beliefs and Values. This advancement track includes Associate, Principal Associate, Income Shareholder, and Equity Shareholder.
