von Briesen Welcomes Two Attorneys to Chicago Office

von Briesen & Roper, s.c., announced today that Tim Oliver, CEPA and Katie Sluman have joined the Firm’s Chicago office.

Tim Oliver, CEPA is a Shareholder in the Business Practice Group. He serves as outside general counsel to closely held and family-owned businesses and focuses on contract, compliance, employment and governance matters, and their major transactions. He is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) advising business owners as they prepare for the sale or succession of their companies. Prior to private practice, Tim worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in derivatives and foreign exchange trading.

Tim is the President and a founding member of the Exit Planning Institute’s Chicago Chapter (EPIC). He received a J.D. from University of Illinois Chicago and a B.S. from Manhattan University.

Katie Sluman is an Associate in the Business Practice Group. She focuses her practice on representing closely held and family-owned businesses in mergers and acquisitions, including strategic and private equity acquisitions, partner buyouts and minority equity transfers.

Katie is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Windy City Seminoles, Chicago’s chapter for Florida State University Alumni. She received a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and a B.S. in Finance, cum laude, from Florida State University.
