Melanie Persich is a Shareholder in the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group. She represents manufacturers, insurers, and businesses in complex litigation matters involving toxic torts, product liability, insurance coverage, commercial disputes, contract litigation, and general liability defense. Drawing on experience across multiple jurisdictions, Melanie develops practical litigation strategies tailored to her clients' business objectives and guides matters from pre-suit investigation through trial.
Melanie brings a broad litigation background spanning both private practice and public service. Before joining von Briesen, she served in the Special Litigation Unit of the New York City Law Department, where she defended the City of New York and its agencies in high-exposure, complex litigation. That experience, combined with her previous practice in other jurisdictions, continues to inform her strategic approach to managing sophisticated disputes for regional and national clients.
Licensed in Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, Melanie regularly handles litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. Her practice includes dispositive motion practice, complex discovery, insurance coverage issues, product liability defense, and commercial litigation involving manufacturers and other business clients.
Melanie is deeply committed to pro bono service and increasing access to justice. She serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Pro Bono Committee and provides legal services to various local nonprofit organizations benefiting underserved populations in the Milwaukee area.
Melanie is admitted to practice before the state courts of Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Eastern District of New York, Western District of New York, Southern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
