Reid Hazelton is a member of the Business Practice Group and co-chairs the firm’s Franchise Law Section. He is also a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee. Reid's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private company transactions, franchise law, and general corporate matters.
Reid represents buyers, sellers, investors, franchisors, and franchisees in complex business transactions, including asset and stock acquisitions, business succession transactions, equity restructurings, franchise development, and corporate governance matters. He also serves as trusted outside counsel to privately-held businesses, advising on strategic, operational, and day-to-day legal issues throughout the business lifecycle.
Prior to practicing law, Reid worked in the automotive and aerospace industries and later co-founded a branded luxury goods manufacturing company. Having operated a business himself, Reid has a practical, business-oriented perspective and understands firsthand the challenges business owners face when evaluating risk, growth opportunities, and significant transactions.
Reid enjoys spending his free time with his wife Tan, their two energetic children Lydia and Wyllie, and fur son Papi. He is an avid rock climber, lover of all animals, music junkie, hobbyist fabricator, and fan of all things mechanical with an engine, wheels, or wings.
