Tom has recently concentrated his practice in the areas of estate planning and trust and estate administration. Tom’s work in the area of estate planning includes tax planning to minimize estate, gift, and generation-skipping taxes; the preparation of estate planning documents; tax planning for charitable gifts, and the representation of individuals concerning wealth management planning. He has extensive experience in representing and planning for owners of closely-held businesses, especially as to their families and successor management and ownership. Tom served as secretary of the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin for 25 years.
Tom’s work in the areas of trust and estate administration involves the distribution of trust and estate assets in the most efficient manner consistent with the client’s documents and tax savings possibilities. These include post-morten tax planning, such as making allowable tax elections and disclaimers.
