Our Knowledge in Patient Care Issues and Risk Management
Our Patient Care Issues and Risk Management Section advises clients on patient rights and responsibilities, consent and treatment issues relating to various patient populations, including newborns, minors, adults, the elderly, incompetent or incapacitated individuals, the mentally ill and developmentally disabled and substance abusers. We assist providers or individuals in securing guardians and protective placements for patients or residents.
Our familiarity with medical ethics, accreditation and licensure standards, conditions of participation and liability principles, allows us to assist clients in drafting appropriate policies and in providing specific training on these issues to head off problems. However, if a problem arises, we provide risk management advice to lessen the threat of suit. If a suit cannot be avoided, we also have a gifted team of professional liability attorneys to assist in defending claims against health providers.
