MILWAUKEE, WI – Thomas A. Myers, a Shareholder of von Briesen & Roper, s.c., has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors for UWM Foundation, Inc.
Since 1974, the UWM Foundation (UWMF) has endeavored to advance the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) through requests of philanthropic gifts to support students, faculty, campus programming and the community. As good stewards of funds designated for the University, the UWMF manages a portfolio currently valued at approximately $174 million and distributes these funds to the University pursuant to donor wishes. In addition, the UWM Foundation provides leadership, oversight and direction to its affiliated corporations, the UWM Real Estate Foundation and the UWM Research Foundation. These corporations create new University facilities to support student life, research, academics and regional economic development, and provide new sources of revenue from research commercialization and entrepreneurial activities.
Myers focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, executive compensation, ESOP transactions, business counseling, corporate finance and taxation. Myers is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Corporate Law. He received a J.D., magna cum laude, Alpha Sigma Nu, from Creighton University and a B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.
